Before you buy

Requires a Ring account, Ring app, internet connection and Wi-Fi coverage at the camera. No alarm panel, security hub or recorder is required. Live View, motion notifications and two-way talk work without a paid recording plan. Saving and reviewing recordings requires a separate Ring subscription; single-device plans currently start at $4.99/month or $49.99/year plus applicable tax. Subscription prices can change.

Setup and everyday use

Set up the camera in the Ring app before mounting it, check the view and Wi-Fi signal, then test motion notifications. Aim cameras at your own property and adjust privacy and motion settings. Internet interruptions prevent remote viewing and cloud recording. This camera does not provide a monitored emergency response.

Power, fit and specifications

The Quick Release Battery Pack needs periodic charging; activity, settings and temperature affect runtime. A Micro USB charging cable is included; supply a compatible USB charging power source. No solar panel or plug-in power adapter is included. Battery-only operation does not provide continuous 24/7 recording.

Weather-resistant body, −4°F to 122°F operating range. Dimensions including stand: 2.6 × 2.6 × 5.0 inches. Field of view: 140° horizontal / 80° vertical. Wi-Fi 6, 2.4/5 GHz; Ring recommends at least 3.5 Mbps upload speed. A depleted battery stops monitoring until charged or replaced.
